Are you Giving Globalization the Right Amount of Attention?
Sloan Management Review 52, N° 6 (2011) 15-16 Journal Articles

Our research demonstrates that the management of executive attention can have a significant impact on the performance of global companies. However, relatively few companies optimize global attention or to get it “right.” Most either spend too little or too much time and mental effort on global issues. And both too little and too much attention to global issues were correlated with lower company performance. Our research indicates that companies that get global attention right focus on three tools to optimize attention: economic incentives, leadership development activities, and symbols that reinforce the importance of globalization.
